I’m Chris Suhre, a cybersecurity professional based in St. Louis. My path here wasn’t exactly direct—I started as a teacher, spent several years managing technology implementations, and later worked as a business analyst before deciding to make cybersecurity my career.
Since then, I’ve worked across security operations, incident response, detection engineering, and network security. I like investigating unfamiliar problems, understanding how systems behave, and improving the processes used to protect them. That interest doesn’t end when the workday does, which is how I’ve ended up building a home lab, analyzing malware, experimenting with home networking and automation, and following more technical rabbit holes than I can count.
Cybersecurity can become overly focused on products, acronyms, and enterprise environments. I’m interested in the technical side, but also in how it connects to ordinary life—the suspicious website that looks convincing, the devices throughout our homes, and the systems people depend on without knowing what happens behind the screen.
